We are very excited to share this interview with you today, so you get to know our mentor a little better. Alexandra, the creator of A-line, truly opens her heart, telling us how she tackles life and career.
Meet our Mentor
Why did you create A-line?
We created A-line because we realized that there is a segment of women unsuccessfully looking for elegant, comfortable pieces that are adaptable and suitable for any time of the day.
Before creating A-line, you had worked in the textile industry for about 20 years. Do you see this experience as your own mentor? What did you take from it and put to practice in your own brand?
My mother being a dressmaker, I grew up around thread, sewing patterns and fabrics. This also meant that high quality standards and attention to detail were the norm for me, especially when I began working in the textile sector, striving to build a loyal client portfolio. With A-line, I just kept this in mind, that I should create unique, tailored pieces that could last in time.
How would you describe your style in 3 words?
Simple, comfortable and sophisticated.
What’s the view from your office?
From where I stand, I see many women in action, working with a common purpose: to make A-line grow and fly high.
Best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Work hard and never give up.
Do you have a favorite quote?
“Less is more”.
What do you never compromise?
Being true to my style and who I am.
Best decision you’ve ever made?
Marrying my husband and partner in crime! Because of this decision, I was able to create the best three projects of my life: my daughter, my son and now a third baby – A-line.
Worst decision you’ve ever made?
Maybe not having created A-line earlier, but everything happens at the right time and for a reason.
A woman who inspires you?
There are two: Audrey Hepburn and Alexa Chung.
